Guest artist Jacob Brown is at Bailey-Brown Pottery with his original paintings, book binding and notebooks.
Working in acrylic, collage and book binding, Jacob creates painterly, colourful, impressionist landscapes that are cut through with spirit, motion and life. His paintings are bound to stretched canvas, wood panels and hand-made notebooks.
Maps, pages from books and original quotes add depth and story that is meant to feel personal and left to the interpretation of the viewer. Evoking place and memory.
Jacob Brown is a contemporary painter and sculpture. He grew up just outside of Tweed, in the hamlet of Roslin. He studied Art History (University of Toronto), Visual and Creative Arts (Sheridan) and Arts Management (Centennial). He currently lives in Belleville ON after over a decade of living, studying and working in Toronto. He has 10 years of experience in Commercial Print, Art Production and Exhibition at a variety of venues including Galleries, Restaurants, Retail Stores and Craft Shows. Jacob also has experience organizing, curating and managing Artists and Exhibitions. He has established himself as an experienced member of the arts community.
