SavvyLikeThat Fiber Arts Studio: Weaving, Hand Dyed Fibre and Handspun Yarn
A Journey Through Texture, Colour & Tradition
SavvyLikeThat Fiber Arts Studio was born from a deep fascination of colour theory, the tactile nature of hand-dyed yarns and fiber and the rhythmic meditation of the loom. Every piece is a testament to the slow craft movement, utilizing heritage techniques in modern ways that transform raw organic fibers into contemporary art and textiles. My philosophy centers on the intersection of craftsmanship and creativity, ensuring that every knot and thread carries the story of play, exploration, and skill.
Savannah Van Niedek was born and raised in the countryside of Wooler, Ontario and was later raised in Kingston, Ontario. In 2001, at the age of 18, she settled in Ireland where she would stay for the next 20 years. Her life in Ireland started in Cork City but she eventually moved to the beautiful West Cork area in 2010 where she opened her home art studio named SavvyLikeThat. She left her career as an accounts manager behind so she could dedicate herself to her art.
