Stop #1: The Hub at the Pavilion, Tweed Memorial Park

Fine Pottery Creations: Functional and Decorative Pottery

I create functional and decorative pottery. I make most pottery on the wheel such as mugs, goblets, bowls, casseroles, teapots, yarn and berry bowls etc. I also create hand formed platters, vases and some bowls on forms. All my pottery is ovenproof and microwave proof. My glazes range in colour from blues, greens, browns and blacks. All are fired at cone 6 2200 F.

I was raised in Victoria, BC and graduated from the University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Arts degree. I later attended Queen’s University receiving a bachelor of Education degree. After a successful career as a teacher, I found myself drawn to the art of pottery making. I have been engaged in my new love of creating form out of clay since 2006. I studied and practiced under Monica Johnston at Frantic Farms in Warkworth and have continued to upgrade my knowledge and practice of the clay art form.
